Answers:
1. Yes a horse can get tetanus. A horse should always be vaccinated for tetanus! Its very important. A horse with tetanus (also called lockjaw), can easily die. It effects the nervous system (the brain and spinal cord). Earliest symptoms include becoming very stiff throughout the body, extreme sensitivity (I.E. the horse is very nervous and jumps when touched), and protrusion of the third eyelid. Later on colic, loud noises, and sweating occur. They must be treated with tetanus antitoxin and antibiotics even if vaccinated. Vaccinated horses have a much better chance of pulling through. A friend of mine had a horse die of what I personally believe was tetanus.
2. I'd guess C would be the answer. I really believe there are several hundred different breeds.
3. All three of these are important for the health of the horse, but out of the three, I'd say that abundant food is the most important. If the horse is starving, it will be too weak to exercise, it can't build healthy muscle, and no amount of rest will help the fact that it isn't eating enough.
