I just got an account...what now?? it looks like i have to pay for everything and i have to be on like level 3 to do anything. What do i do?? can i buy more horses? i am totally helpless and have no idea what to do!

Well, I was just like you. You simply feed your horse, put it too bed. For a while, you won't be able to do much with your horse. As it ages, you get access to more things. You can take quizzes so that your riding level increases. THAT is the main thing that accessed more pages. And of course, there's a condition: You can only take tests after being registered for a certain time. You are only considered registered for every day that you log in. Oh! Also! Be sure to put your horse to bed every night. After you've done something with your horse, it shows up under your horses picture. It also says the time (in army appearance). Make sure that your horse gets to bed before 22:00.

There is no need to pay for anything with real money. You can buy passes with real money, but you can also go without them.
*Buying a pass will be the only thing on howrse that requires real money.
Passes can get you special stuff in the black market.
You can also find passes around the website. And you can win a pass with the summer contest they have going right now.

make sure to log on every day in order to progress faster in the game to get you more into it
i would wait to buy another horse yet . . . i would say to just get to know the rules and know of the game by reading the breeder's manual and such. focus on your horse, first just looking after it and as it grows, playing with it and then training it, then competing with it. the game will get more fun as you go along :)
